Individual Therapy

“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
– Viktor Frankl

Therapy is for when

You’ve lost hold of who you are and don’t know your thoughts and feelings.

Talking with friends is hard. When you do talk, they give you more advice than you can process.

While responsible for taking care of other’s emotional needs, there’s no room for you to meet your emotional needs or experiences.

It would be nice to talk freely to somebody on your side, someone who can help you become who you want to be and not who they want you to be. You want somebody supportive and caring to help push you forward in your growth.

Therapy is different from what you imagine.

You know you’re ready for therapy if you’re reading this, and we are so happy that you have chosen to make a change in your life.

If you are getting ready to try out therapy for the first time, you may have a lot of ideas from stereotypes on TV, where someone is lying on a couch, looking at the ceiling, and musing about their childhood.

In reality, therapy is more active, conversational, and effectual.

We’ll talk about what is happening in your life, and you get to decide what pace and direction you want this to go.

Therapy with us is about YOU.

You will never have the same therapy as someone else – your therapy centers around you – your needs, goals, and preferred pathways for achieving those goals.

Each session is designed specifically for you and how you grow best. Maybe these sessions mean talking things through and considering how your narratives shape how you feel about your successes, challenges, relationships, identity, or workplace.

Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself, and you want to work on tools to feel more integrated and present in your daily experience.

Depending on your needs, you might be looking to explore the formative experiences that have shaped your sense of self. Or it may feel more important to develop tools to help manage your relationships, cope, or even thrive in your daily life.

Let’s start the conversation.

Our primary approach to therapy is through conversation – talking through your feelings, thoughts, experiences, and ways to achieve your goals.

Aside from a conversational approach, we can also integrate somatic and creative practices.

art, movement, mindfulness, and somatic techniques can help you connect to deeper parts of yourself, reflect on past experiences, and heal and grow.
